How to delete your data from Medal Social

These instructions cover a single connected account and a whole Medal Social workspace or account. Related reading: Privacy policy.

1. Disconnect a single account

In Medal, open Brand's Integrations tab, open the channel card and click Disconnect. We delete the stored access and refresh tokens immediately and stop all further access. For YouTube we also revoke the grant at Google, and we delete the videos Medal Social imported from that channel. Your videos on YouTube itself are untouched. For other platforms, you can also remove Medal Social in that platform's settings. Content and analytics already imported from other accounts stay in your workspace until you delete them or delete the workspace.

2. Delete your workspace or account

Workspace owners can delete the workspace in Settings (you'll be asked to sign in again).Deletion is scheduled 30 days later, so a deletion made by mistake can be cancelled. After that, all workspace data is permanently deleted. Deleting your account also deletes every workspace you own, after the same 30-day period. You can also email privacy@medalsocial.com from the account's email address with the subject "Delete my data"; we respond within 30 days. On the web app, open your avatar, choose Account settings, then Security, and choose Delete account. The same control is in the mobile app under Security in your personal account settings. See Deleting your account. Convex snapshots are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. Postgres keeps 7 nightly full backups plus about a week of point-in-time recovery. Accounting and point-of-sale records that Norwegian bookkeeping law requires us to keep (5 years) are retained until that period ends, then deleted.

Logs

Operational and error logs (server, application and browser error/performance telemetry) are kept for up to 30 days and then deleted automatically, except security audit logs, which are kept for 365 days.

3. Revoke from the platform

You can also remove Medal Social in your TikTok, Google, Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat or Microsoft account settings. When the platform notifies us (TikTok and Meta), we disconnect the account as in step 1. The Meta removal path is available.

The data-deletion callback is POST https://io.medalsocial.com/webhooks/meta/data-deletion.

The deauthorize callback is POST https://io.medalsocial.com/webhooks/meta/deauthorize.

The deletion status page is https://app.medalsocial.com/data-deletion/status.

Content you already published to a social network stays on that network. Delete it there, or use Unpublish in Medal where the platform supports it.
